Welcome to Allerias

You'll be surprised and glad to hear that Allerias has many qualities similar to your Planet Earth. From our wet surface to our water-based clouds, you may find it a little hot, but pretty comfortable.

The Planet's Surface

The planet is mainly covered in vast oceans, dotted with large islands. The islands are dense with rich tropical forests in which live a variety of organisms. There is tectonic plate activity, but most of it is underwater, with great ridges and subduction trenches not dissimilar to those found in Earth’s ocean. There are fewer plates on Allerias Beta than on Earth, and the volcanic activity on the fault lines (mainly underwater) is extremely violent. Such volcanic regions are usually avoided by the residents of the planet.

The Planet's Atmosphere

The composition of the atmosphere is mainly Nitrogen (75%) like Earth’s but its Carbon Dioxide content is much higher (0.085%) which allows for its greater greenhouse effect. There is also plenty of Oxygen (22.35%) and various noble gases. There is an ozone layer in the atmosphere that protects the planet from the UV rays, and there is no immediate danger posed to it.

Good Prospect for Finding Life

Allerias Beta is placed in the habitable zone of its star, and the surface temperature allows it to maintain liquid water. The tides are stable and it deals with very little impact from foreign bodies. The atmosphere is a very healthy composition for life like we know on Earth, and the soil is rich in minerals for plant life. It is well protected from UV rays by its ozone layer, and its greenhouse effect allows it to maintain its warm temperature.

Not only is it well placed in its system, but the whole system is well placed in the Andromeda Galaxy. It sits in a place similar to that of the sun in the Milky Way. It is safely distanced from the current violent star forming regions and is not within the hazards of a supernova explosion.
