Our planet is one of 4 planets in the Allerian Solar System, and the only one that has life on it. The other planets are interesting, however.
Planetary System Environment
Allerias Beta is the second planet in its system, and the only one within the habitable zone. Its orbit is a very slight ellipse, and its distance from the star only shifts by about 2 million miles on this ellipse.
The system itself is composed of four planets. First there is Allerias Alpha, which is a small world only 0.5 AU from the star. It resembled Mercury since it is tidally locked, has no atmosphere, and has a high mass for its diameter. It is not as heavily cratered as Mercury, the reason for which will be stated soon. The second planet is of course Allerias Beta, which is 1.5 AU from the star.
About ten AU away from Allerias Beta (11.5 AU from the star) is a massive gas giant about two and a half times the size of Jupiter. It is called Allerias Delta, and serves an important role in Allerias Beta’s ability to house life. It’s intense gravity, while it has little direct effect on the inner planets, draws away many of the comets and asteroids that could potentially bombard the inner neighbors.
During Beta’s Hadean Period, it had about half the bombardment Earth had, and it was allowed to solidify and get started with life much sooner. (Beta’s moons were not the result of impact, but were planetesmals that fell into orbit around it during the formation of the solar system.) Delta has hundreds of objects in orbit around it, and a ring system that would shame Saturn.
The farthest planet out from Allerias Star is Allerias Zeta, a small ice giant about 19 AU from the star. It is about two thirds the size of Uranus and Neptune and has one major satellite as well several small ones. Very little is known about its effect on Allerias Beta, if there is one.
There is an asteroid belt between Beta and Delta, about 5 to 7 AU from the star. Occasionally they escape to the inner system or get pulled into orbit around Delta, but it does not pose frequent threats. Beyond Allerias Zeta is a belt similar to the Kuiper Belt in our solar system, but no dwarf planets have been detected as of yet.
